Russia

1. Everywhere in Europe there were competitions. There was militarism going on between Great Britain and Germany. They were trying to build the biggest and strongest navy. There was also imperialism going on between Germany and France, they were fighting over colonies. Last the Serbs wanted to be there own country and not be under the rule of Austria-Hungary. Russia's involvement in World War I started when the Serb's created the Black Hand and assassinated the Archduke of Austria-Hugary. The Serbs asked us to help them fight against Austria-Hungary for there freedom. Austria-Hungary thought Russia helped Serbia kill the Archduke by supplying weapons, but we didn't.
2. The Serbs put together a terrorist group called the 'Black Hand', they were to kill Archduke Franz Ferdinand. The Serbs wanted to be free from Austria-Hungary and they thought if they killed the Archduke then would be free.

1. Our plan is to attack. We can't let any one move in on us. But Germany created the Schlieffen Plan to attack France and hold us off because they had a double front war situation. Well there plan to hold us off didn't go accordingly. We moved faster than planned and took out the west side of their country. Our county spent a lot of time in trenches. We used a lot of machine guns.

   This is a propaganda poster that was in Russia. This poster uses two propaganda techniques. One technique is Patriotic Appeal, this is one technique because the poster refers to Serbia as "our ally." The other techniques is Emotional Symbols, this is the other technique because the poster has a picture of women and children as well as the men in uniform.
3. So I just found out Russia is leaving the war. We signed Brest Treaty with Germany (it was a peace treaty). We signed this treaty because were having revolutions and riots with in our country and to some extent we still are. We need to get our selves back on our own feet before worry about our Allies.

1. Christmas! :( Yes I am excited about Christmas don't get me wrong, but NO one wants to spend Christmas fighting a war. So, out in the trenches us soldiers made peace for the day and enjoyed each others presence. We played soccer with the other countries and eating together. We enjoyed our Christmas the only way we knew how.

1. Well they finally decide to END the war. It didn't effect us much because we were already out of it. Germany was ordered to signed the Treaty of Versailles by the Allies. Germany was blamed for the war. Everyone said that the war was their fault. Germany had to pay all the war damages. This included: desruction of land, and pensions to the wives and families of the soldiers that were killed. After totaling all the different costs, Germany had to pay over $30 billion. Germany was also stripped of their colonies in the United States as well as Alsace and Lorraine of France. On top of all that, Germany would now have a limit to the size of there once extremely feared military.
